Our driveway is very steep. Is that a problem for delivery?

It changes the vehicle and therefore the number of trips, which we price rather than absorb quietly. What we will not do is send a load that cannot turn at the top, a delivery vehicle that gets stuck on a Kitisuru driveway is a considerably worse day than an extra trip.

The kitchen is a floor below the front door. Does that matter?

For installation, yes. Carcasses have to be carried down rather than wheeled along, which caps the size of any single piece regardless of what the doorway allows. We factor it into how the island and tall units are sectioned.

Kitisuru gives us generous rooms and difficult access at the same time: large kitchens at the end of steep, tightly turned private driveways, frequently on a level below the entrance.

The driveway decides the load

Before booking a delivery we survey the driveway: gradient, turning at the top, and whether a loaded vehicle can reverse out. On the steeper New Kitisuru plots that rules out the vehicle we would normally use, which means smaller loads and more trips.

That is a real cost and we price it rather than absorbing it silently. What we will not do is send a full load that cannot make the turn.

Where the kitchen sits a floor below the entrance, common on the valley side, carcasses are carried down stairs rather than wheeled along a level route. That caps the size and weight of any single piece independently of what the doorway would allow.

It is one of the few situations where the staircase, rather than the door, sets how the island is sectioned.

Where the room is genuinely large

The Loresho Ridge properties have kitchens large enough that a double island works: one for preparation with the sink, one for seating and serving. That is unusual in Nairobi and it needs the width to be real: 900mm minimum clear between them and around both.

Where a room can take it, it is the arrangement that makes a large kitchen genuinely more usable rather than just bigger.
